New additions to my personal Library and showing appreciation.

Last January when The Shape of Water was released in the Movie Theater near our home I bought tickets for my husband and I, and even when he had some reservations about the movie he ended up loving it as much as I did (he was happy Guillermo del Toro won the Oscar).

When I found out they were releasing the book (written by Guillermo del Toro and Daniel Kraus) I immediately put it on my Wish List. Today we celebrated an special occasion and my husband arrived home with a surprise for me:

Earlier today my husband sent me a message saying he was going to be a little late because of work, the truth is that he went to Barnes and Noble (even when he isn’t a fan of shopping in that store and when he goes he is “in and out” really quickly), but today he spent over an hour looking around the store, reading synopsis and reviews to choose the books he was going to give me as a gift.

I loved the books he brought me, but what I love even more is:

  • He knows me well and knows how much I love reading, so books is a great gift option for me.
  • He spent time doing something he doesn’t particularly like (shopping in a Bookstore) just to make me happy.
  • He pays attention and he remembered that I wanted The Shape of Water book.
  • He brought and extra book because, in his words “I know you love YA books”, and that’s true, is actually my favorite genre.

So, besides sharing with you the newer additions to my Library I also want to share my appreciation and love for the wonderful man that is my husband.

“Connecting with those you know love, like and appreciate you restores the spirit and give you energy to keep moving forward in this life.”

Photography: Cute Bookmarks for good Books.

Last year in Barnes & Noble, I bought a bookmark with the image of Audrey Hepburn’s in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (one of my favorite movies) and I absolutely loved it, since then I started collecting bookmarks.

In our wedding anniversary my husband gave me one of Hello Kitty (I’d been always a Hello Kitty’s fan).

Today I found these three (on sale for around $.60 usd each) to add to my collection:

Have a Cupcake and Read something nice, a Book Recommendation

Keep Calm

Book Description (From Amazon):

Cakewalk through the busy banquet of life with this little compendium of comforting quotations! ”Sweetness is one of the five basic tastes and is almost universally regarded as a pleasurable experience, so enjoy your cupcake.” ”There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” ”Life is short — have your cupcake and eat it too.”

Short and sweet (just like cupcakes), this pretty little book offers uplifting servings of sanity sure to warm the heart (and sweet tooth).

Book Comments:

I really love cupcakes, and this little book with a pink cover, attracted my attention a few days ago in a Store.

Today I finally decided to buy it and I searched the Kindle version in Amazon (this way I can read it also in the the Kindle app on my Mobile), and I truly enjoyed reading the quotes and looking at the cute images in this little book.

Why do I recommend it? Because sometimes all we need is some nice and comforting words, and because for a price of $0.99 usd I think it’s a good deal 🙂

Disclaimer: The offer may be available only for US customers, the prices frequently change in Amazon, is important that you confirm the price prior to buy any book.

Half Price Books and my Jane Austen addiction

As a good fan of Jane Austen I take every opportunity I have to purchase more items related to her and her books. In February I went to Half Price Books in Crossroads Mall (here in Bellevue) and I found a book to add to my collection.

The book is “The Illustrated Pride and Prejudice Companion”, it has beautiful color illustrations on every page to accompany the story and I absolutely love it.

Today I had the opportunity to visit this bookstore and again I was really lucky because I found something else to my collection, a metal box containing 10 Jane Austen Gift Cards.

After this I think I’ll be going on a regular basis to see what else I can found for my collection.
