Book description (from Goodreads):
“Rae’s always dreamed of dating a guy like Nathan. He’s nothing like her abusive stepfather—in other words, he’s sweet. But the closer they get, the more Nathan wants of her time, of her love, of her…and the less she wants to give.
As Rae’s affection for Nathan turns to fear, she leans on her friend Leo for support. With Leo, she feels lighter, happier. And possessive Nathan becomes jealous.
Then a tragedy lands Rae in the ICU. Now, hovering between life and death, Rae must find the light amid the darkness…and the strength to fight for life and the love she deserves.”
My Book review:
I really liked this book and it was impossible for me to put it down until I finished (that was around 3 or 4 am).
The story was really heartbreaking at times, this book is so full of emotions and I found myself so immerse that in some moments I was sad, but in others I was angry because just couldn’t understand why some characters acted the way they did, I think this is what happens when the characters are well written and you can relate to them (is easy identify who are good people and who are not).
For some people this may no be an easy read, it’s not your typical love story, it’s dark at times and addresses some hard topics, but I think the author developed the story really well and everything fitted into place.
I think this book did a good job of showing that in difficult and hard times, we have to keep strong and hold on to the good stuff, even when sometimes may seem impossible.
The poetry in the book was good and the idea of share your feelings through the writing made me remember the time I got my first journal (diary) and I used to write in it all the time.
Overall I really recommend this book.
